Thai Walks
I walked outside today after work and I wasn't cold. I don't think this has EVER happened! It was odd and very amazing. It's going to be great here when it's warm - I can feel it! So because it was warm when I got off work, and because sometimes I feel like I should be able to reward myself because I have a job, I decided to get some Thai food for dinner. I had been planning this all day in fact. While I was at work I googled Thai places near my apartment and found one not too far away. So after work I hopped on the North Ave bus and headed a couple blocks east to this restaurant called Aroma. I went in, ordered my pad thai and decided just to walk back home. It was a really nice walk and I had one of my 'I'm actually living in Chicago I'm so independent I'm really proud of myself I can't believe I'm actually here' moments. I've gotten these moments a few times since moving here. Usually they happen when I'm walking someplace new by myself and when it's not freezing. So I walked about 15 minutes back to my apartment through this neighborhood called Old Town. They have a bunch of restaurants and little shops and grocery stores and cute alleyways. It's also the home of Second City, where a bunch of celebrities like Tina Fey and Steve Carell started out. So I went home, ate my pad that (amazing) and then decided to blog about it. The end :)

We're going to get some Thai when you come visit St. Louis next :) Also, I still have that Office calendar in my room with your name on it!
